Grayslake sewer request aired

A controversial plan to provide Lake County sewer service to allow for the development of a truck terminal in Grayslake will get another public airing Wednesday. The issue involves 33 acres south of Peterson Road and west of Midlothian Road under contract to Saia Inc. The village last summer annexed and zoned the parcel for a $14 million truck terminal, maintenance and repair facilities, and wants to amend its agreement with the county for sewer service to accommodate the facilities. Neighboring Mundelein and some residents have filed suit against Grayslake and Saia saying the use is incompatible with the area, would hurt property values and result in air and noise pollution. The committee meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. in the 10th floor assembly room at the Lake County building, 18 N. County St., Waukegan.
