Utah's Burke sits out against Pacers due to strep throat

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah's Trey Burke is sitting out the Jazz game against the Indiana Pacers because of strep throat.

Burke, who didn't attend the shootaround on Monday, plans to join the team on its upcoming road trip. Burke had started every game this season. He is averaging 12.2 points and 5.1 assists. He posted a season-high 28 points at Minnesota last Saturday.

Danté Exum earned his first career start on Monday night in place of Burke. Exum, the No. 5 pick in the 2014 draft, is averaging 5 points and 1.9 assists per game.

The injury-ravaged Jazz signed NBA D-League guard-forward Elijah Millsap on Monday. Utah is also without starting guard Alec Burks (shoulder), guard Patrick Christopher (dislocated kneecap) and rookie Rodney Hood (left foot inflammation).

Indiana was missing George Hill for a third straight game due to a left groin strain.
