High school bleachers before Lake Zurich village board

Lake Zurich village board members will return to work Monday evening, Jan. 5. Among the issues the village trustees are expected to address is a Lake Zurich Unit District 95 plan to expand bleacher seating and make other improvements at the high school football stadium complex in time for next season. Under the plan, new bleachers would be built to accommodate 2,500 spectators at Mel Eide Field. That would more than double the current seating capacity of 1,200. Lake Zurich's advisory plan commission last month recommended approval of the new and expanded bleacher seating, but the village board gets the final say on all issues. Monday's meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at village hall, 70 E. Main St.
