Sentencing set for Richmond man in 2012 slaying

RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) - An eastern Indiana man will be sentenced later this month after agreeing to plead guilty in a brutal, drug-related killing.

The Palladium-Item reports (http://pinews.co/1ykauxC ) 20-year-old Robert W. Campbell will plead guilty Jan. 30 in Wayne Superior Court to murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery in the killing of 48-year-old Michael Sekse.

In exchange for his plea, prosecutors will drop their efforts to have the Richmond man sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Campbell was one of five co-defendants charged in Sekse's March 2012 killing during a robbery in a shed. Authorities say Sekse was stabbed multiple times before Campbell grabbed a gun and shot him in the head.

The other four co-defendants were convicted and are serving prison time.
