Believe Project: $100 to an upbeat friend facing foreclosure

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Sally Matzinger of Arlington Heights.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"My friend and I are soul mates in our love of singing in our church choir, especially the beautiful words of Christmas. At the same time I know she is totally worn out in giving all that she has to her dear family. Despite being a widow and in her 70s, she lovingly cares for two adult children and three grandchildren in her home with only a Social Security check and very small pension. She cannot afford a medical supplement and limps around on a cane. There is no car. A foreclosure notice has been served."

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
