No injuries in Glen Ellyn apartment complex fire

A fire that broke out at a Glen Ellyn apartment complex Tuesday left no reported injuries, officials said.

The fire, which was reported at 11:19 a.m., occurred on the 100 block of North Parkside in a two-story multifamily building, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke and fire coming from the roof, officials said. Although the fire was contained to a unit on the second floor, water from fire streams damaged another unit. All residents were evacuated safely, the release said.

There were no reported injuries, and displaced residents got assistance from the American Red Cross. The Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company received the help of several other fire departments, as well Glen Ellyn's police and public works departments.

The fire is under investigation.
