NEW PALESTINE, Ind. - A suburban Indianapolis couple plans to participate in a parade ahead of the Rose Bowl for their first vacation in about three decades.
The Daily Reporter reports that Julia Rejer and her husband, Randy, of New Palestine will ride the Donate Life float in the parade before Thursday's game in Pasadena, California. The mother of two who's twice been an organ donor recipient has been ill for many of the last 30 years due to a rare bile duct disease. It's called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis.
Rejer says she didn't think she would see her children graduate, but received two liver transplants over the years.
The 59-year-old says she is grateful and tries to enjoy each moment.
Her husband says they take things one day at a time.
