Cary-Grove's Barker reaches 1,000 milestone

Cary-Grove 44, Mundelein 27: Katie Barker became the eighth player in C-G girls basketball history to score 1,000 career points in the Trojans' (7-8) win at the Mundelein Holiday Tournament. Barker led all scorers with 16 points.

Westminster Christian 57, Chicago Academy 40: Maddie Versluys outscored the opponents by herself with 42 points for the Warriors (8-5) at the Guerin Prep Holiday Tournament, breaking her own school record for points in a game.

Lyons 52, Jacobs 37: Talia Surges scored 8 points for the Golden Eagles (5-8) in a loss at Wheaton North's Falcon Classic.

Niles West 50, Streamwood 42: Kiana Jeremiah and Jenejha Williams registered 14 points each for the Sabres (3-11) in a Mundelein Tournament loss.

Waubonsie Valley 51, Elgin 26: The Maroons (2-11) suffered a loss in the Falcon Classic despite 16 points from Tiana Stewart.

Joliet Catholic 63, Larkin 51: The Royals (3-11) dropped an Oswego East Holiday Classic matchup as Quixmia Washington led all scorers with 25.

Hampshire 49, Illiana Christian 29: Emma Benoit had a team-high 10 points for the Whip-Purs (9-2) in a Lisle Cage Classic win.

St. Edward 73, Reed-Custer 25: Cece Rapp scored 16 points in a blowout win for the Green Wave (11-2) at the Lisle Cage Classic.
