St. Viator finishes with win at Proviso West

St. Viator produced a strong shooting performance to earn a 75-39 victory over Providence-St. Mel for its first triumph in tournament play at Proviso West on Friday.

Senior guard Patrick McNamara led the way with a game-high 19 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the field, which included a 3-pointer.

Sal Cannella contributed 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting, Mark Falotico had 9 points and Nick Ferrante finished with a team-best 12 rebounds along with a 4-for-4 effort at the foul line.

The Lions (8-3) shot 29-for-55 from the field in the game while limiting Providence-St. Mel (5-8) to 14-for-56.

St. Viator, which outscored Providence-St. Mel 27-3 in the third quarter, completed its first Proviso West appearance with a 1-2 record.
