Woman hit by multiple vehicles on US 33 near Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Police say a woman who was apparently hit by multiple vehicles on a highway near Fort Wayne has died.

The Allen County Sheriff's Department says a driver called about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday reporting that he had hit a body on U.S. 33 about 10 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.

The department says it appears from the woman's injuries that she had been hit multiple times.

Police are asking the public to provide information about what vehicles might have hit the woman. Authorities didn't immediately release the woman's identity.
