Police: Fire didn't kill woman in Indiana house
WARSAW, Ind. - Police in northern Indiana say a woman found dead inside a burning home last week wasn't killed by the fire.
The Warsaw Police Department says it is now conducting a homicide investigation into the death of 34-year-old Sarah Gibbs.
The department says an autopsy determined Gibbs died from injuries she suffered from an intentional assault by someone else. Emergency crews found Gibbs dead on Friday inside a one-story house in the city about 40 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.
The police department says the cause of the fire also remained under investigation.
