High-scoring Bulls beat Raptors

Winning with defense is low on the Bulls' priority list these days.

They played a game that resembled NBA basketball of the 1970s on Monday, outscoring the Toronto Raptors 129-120 at the United Center.

The win was significant for a couple reasons: Most importantly, Derrick Rose took over in the fourth quarter, hitting 6 of 6 shots for 15 points. He was back after missing the previous two games with an illness.

Also, Toronto (22-7) started the night leading the Eastern Conference standings. The Bulls (18-9) are now 2-0 against the Raptors this season.

The Bulls trailed 60-48 midway through the third quarter, then put together a few minutes of good defense, limiting Toronto to 1-of-13 shooting over the final 6:30 in the third quarter.

The Bulls then scored 49 points in the fourth quarter, the most points scored in a quarter in franchise history. The late Norm Van Lier would be proud.
