Santa's Little Helpers prepare for Christmas

Little elves created crafts for their parents Thursday at Santa's workshop at the Geneva Park District.

Kids 2 to 6 participated in the annual Santa's Little Helpers program at the Sunset Community Center. They painted wooden snowflakes and star ornaments, and embellished foam picture frames with snowmen and penguin stickers. The children decorated their own gift wrap paper with stickers and inking stamps. Photos were taken of the children and would be added to the frames and ornaments to make them keepsake gifts.

Karen Kloubec, preschool instructor for the park district, has taught the annual class every year for more than 20 years, and says they change the projects every year. She said it previously was a three-day workshop, but this year it was condensed into a four-hour program.
