Pets saved by firefighters in Mundelein

Several pet reptiles and cats were saved by firefighters when they responded Tuesday to a small fire in Mundelein, officials said.
The fire occurred around 5:50 p.m. at a single-family home on the 600 block of Longfellow Lane. The fire originated in a bedroom, but the cause is under investigation.
No one was injured, and estimated damages amount to $1,500.
