Survey: Illinoisans are among the biggest braggarts on social media
An Internet company says Illinoisans are among the biggest braggarts on social media, painting the state as a sort of Land of LinkedIn.
The social media company HeyLets.com conducted a survey of 2,500 Americans and asked how often they post self-promotional updates on Facebook and other sites.
The site said Illinois was the sixth "most braggadocios" state in the union, with 67 percent of survey respondents saying they often post self-promotional items.
The leading state: California at 77 percent. The most humble state, according to the site, is Utah at 22 percent.
Going on a special trip was the top topic, the survey said.
HeyLets is an app that "allows people to share amazing experiences without social pressure to look cool or impress each other," the company bragged in a news release.
