OCC Empty Bowls event is Saturday, Dec. 6

The annual Empty Bowls fundraiser at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines will be held 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Professional and student potters from the Chicago area contribute hundreds of unique bowls and other pieces for the event, which raises money for food banks, soup kitchens and other meal programs. Since 2004, the OCC event has sold about 13,000 handmade bowls and has raised nearly $184,000 for local food pantries. Free admission. emptybowls@oakton.edu, or call (847) 635-1699.
