Generous donations make Graylake Central holiday food drive a success

Many Avon Township families will have bountiful holiday meals this year, thanks to the work of the Grayslake Central High School student council and public service practicum classes.

With the physical food collected and money donated to buy more, the two groups teamed up to collect 63,705 pounds of food - so far - for the school's 22nd annual food drive.

However, you can still donate to the cause by visiting gofund.me/5gssqs.

In addition to providing food to the Avon Township Food Pantry, the collection will provide holiday meals to over 200 local area families.

Meals will include a frozen turkey, potatoes, apples, milk and multiple boxes of non-perishable goods.
