Eastgate Manor ladies crochet for the homeless

Ashleigh Richier volunteers at the Eastgate Manor of Algonquin. Every Tuesday, she teaches a crochet class, although most of the ladies in the class are now outshining her.

For the last month, they have been crocheting scarves and hats for the homeless.

Richier raised money through family and friends then used all the money to buy yarn.

Then Richier, along with friends and the ladies at the assisted living community, got to work. They have more than 30 scarves and 15 hats. They are continuing to work on this project and others like it throughout the year.
