Mundelein school students volunteer at Feed My Starving Children

Submitted by Rachel Roth

On Nov. 20, one week before Thanksgiving, 36 seventh- and eighth-grade students, who are in the National Junior Honor Society chapter at West Oak Middle School in Mundelein, lent a helping hand at Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville.

This is a organization ships hand-packed meals that are specially formulated for children who are malnourished. The food goes to some 70 countries around the world.

The West Oak students were on hand to pack these lifesaving meals and prepare them for shipment. Everybody had a great time and was excited about helping out those in need. The students packed enough food for 21,168 meals that would feed 58 kids for an entire year. All of the students look forward to helping out again in the future.
