Writer was off by only 500 million years

Marc Thomsen's letter on Oct. 25 concerning consensus about global warming ("Science of climate change ever changes") apparently was not fact checked. The American Meteorological Society just published an article stating "Rising global temperatures over the summer - readings in May, June, August and September set new highs - could result in 2014 going down as the hottest year since records began 135 years ago, according to U.S. Meteorologists." The earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old instead of "about 4 billion." Not bad, Mr. Thomsen, you are only "about" 500 million years off.
