Stevenson 72, Hinsdale Central 59: At Lyons, Jalen Brunson scored 28 points and Connor Cashaw added 22 and 8 rebounds, as the Patriots improved to 3-0 in the Hinsdale Central/Lyons tournament.
Stevenson jumped out to a 22-5 lead after one quarter and was up 45-25 at halftime. Hinsdale Central outscored the Patriots 16-9 in the third quarter, but Stevenson kept a double-digit lead in the fourth.
Stevenson will play Glenbard West at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hinsdale Central. The game was moved up to accommodate the Patriots, whose football team plays in the Class 8A state championship game at 7 p.m. in Champaign.
Northridge Prep 40, Vernon Hills 39: At Northridge Prep, the hosts wiped out a 28-18 deficit after three quarters by outscoring the Cougars 22-11 in the fourth.
Robby Nardini's 14 points, which included four 3-pointers, led Vernon Hills.
Grayslake Central 68, Marmion Academy 64: At Buffalo Grove, Sam Ruhlmann led three Rams in double figures with 15 points.
Joey Mudd and David Kienzle added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Grayslake Central. David Llorens chipped in 9 points for the Rams.
Zion-Benton 76, Grayslake North 68: At Johnsburg, the Knights fell behind 24-10 after one quarter and could not recover.
Grayslake North (2-1) will play Richmond-Burton for third place at 5:30 p.m. today at Johnsburg.
Crystal Lake Central 78, Carmel 70: At Crystal Lake Central, the Corsairs suffered their first loss of the season, despite 18 points apiece from Shareif Bailey and Chris Duff.
Carmel will play Rockton Hononegah at 5:30 p.m. today.
