Suspect arrested after Elk Grove Village robbery

A suspect remained in custody awaiting charges Thursday following a robbery at an Elk Grove Village sandwich shop, police said.
The stickup occurred about 9 p.m. Wednesday at Jersey Mike's Subs, 178 Biesterfield Road.
When police arrived, the suspect was being detained, according to a news release. No information was available about who caught the suspect or how he was detained.
The suspect was being held Thursday at the Elk Grove Village police station. Charges were pending as the investigation continued, police said.
