District 50 announces Dual Language Chat schedule

Woodland Elementary District 50 will host its first Dual Language Chat of the school year Dec. 9.

The meeting is for current parents of dual language learners and will be presented in English and Spanish.

"The purpose of these chats is to build a stronger relationship with our parents and to educate them about the dual language program offered at Woodland," said Elizabeth Szepesi, the district's coordinator of Bilingual Education and Dual Language.

Each dual language chat will feature a short presentation related to learning in a dual language program, with time for questions and answers.

Meetings will be held on the following dates and times:

• Dec. 9: Status of Language Acquisition

9 a.m. at the Educational Support Center, 1105 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee.

4:15 p.m. at Elementary East Learning Resource Center, 17261 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake.

• Feb. 17: Biliteracy

9 a.m. at the Educational Support Center, 1105 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee.

4:15 p.m. at Elementary East Learning Resource Center, 17261 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake.

• April 28: Bridging

9 a.m. at the Educational Support Center, 1105 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee.

4:15 p.m. at Elementary East Learning Resource Center, 17261 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake.
