Trial set for man accused of killing baby in Waukegan

A trial date has been set for a Chicago man accused of killing his 2-month-old son in Waukegan last year.

Andre Sharkey is charged with first degree murder and has pleaded not guilty. He is set to go on trial in Lake County circuit court on Dec. 8, The News-Sun of Lake County reported.

Police say Sharkey's son, Samuel, had "suspicious injuries" when he was taken to the hospital. Authorities say the baby died of trauma to the abdomen.

Sharkey is being held in the Lake County jail on $3 million bail.
