Vernon Hills 47, Lake Forest Academy 22: At the Cougar Classic, Vernon Hills struck quickly out of the gates and kept rolling. The Cougars were up 15-4 at the end of the first quarter and extended that to 38-10 at halftime.

Vernon Hills got balanced scoring from eight players with Kasey Firnbach and Dana Meline leading the way with 8 points apiece. Haley Lieberman chipped in with 7 points.

Also at the Cougar Classic, Maine East defeated Glenbrook North, 51-47 and Lake Forest defeated Woodstock North, 48-39.
