Woman killed by officer identified
BOYCEVILLE, Wis. - The woman shot and killed by a police officer in Dunn County is identified.
Authorities say 33-year-old Shonda Mikelson was shot in the chest after she refused to drop a rifle and pointed an apparent handgun at the Boyceville officer. The handgun was later determined to be a replica gun.
Police say they were called to the Boyceville home last Friday by Mikelson's boyfriend who said she was threatening him with a knife. Officials say the Mikelson met police at the door with a rifle and refused the officer's demand to drop the weapon before pulling the handgun.
Barron County sheriff's deputies are investigating.
