Pingree Grove man accused of indecent soliciation of child

A Pingree Grove man faces up to five years in prison on charges he tried to solicit sex from a person under the age of 17, authorities said Monday.

Jeremy S. Zoubek, 27, of the 800 block of Emerald Drive, made contact Friday, Nov. 14, with a detective from the Lake County Sheriff's Office Cybercrimes Unit posing as a 14-year-old boy on a social media network, authorities said.

Zoubek arranged to meet with the boy at 6 p.m. to have sex, authorities said, but was instead met by detectives and taken into custody.

Zoubek was charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, a class three felony that could result in a prison sentence of two to five years.

Zoubek's bail was set at $100,000, authorities said. He must post 10 percent to be released.

He is due back in court Nov. 26.
