Waukegan park commissioner nomination papers available

There will be two park commissioner positions on the ballot for the April 7, 2015, election.

The six-year positions currently held by Commissioners Terry Duffy and Pat Foley are up for election. Both incumbents are seeking re-election.

Park commissioners serve a term of six years without compensation. Filing for candidacy requires collecting 134 signatures of registered voters in the park district on the petitions for nomination, completing and filing a statement of economic interest and filing a statement of candidacy.

The commissioners meet at 4:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month for the Board of Commissioners meeting and the fourth Tuesday of each month for the Committee of the Whole meeting at the Corrine J. Rose Administrative Office.

Candidates seeking election as Waukegan Park District commissioners may pick up nomination papers at the Corrine J. Rose Administrative Office, 2000 Belvidere, Waukegan. The candidates may file their packets at the Corrine J. Rose Administrative Office of the park district between 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, and 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22.
