Naperville coyote researcher to give talk

With the increase in coyote sightings in and around Chicago, officials are reminding residents that the animals are here to stay.

Authorities suggest precautions like securing trash and keeping an eye on pets.

Those wanting to learn more can attend a Naperville Park District presentation titled "Living with Coyotes."

The Naperville Sun reports that Wednesday's event at the Knoch Knolls Nature Center will feature urban coyote researcher Shane McKenzie.

Nature center manager Angelique Harshman calls it "a great opportunity to learn about the behavior of coyotes that live in our neighborhoods."
