Farmhouse living room
About a year ago we purchased this farmhouse that was built in 1905 and renovated in 1980. There is a living room off the kitchen.
I have no idea how to decorate it. The room has some of the original features. You can see the fireplace in the picture; unfortunately it's a bit of an eyesore. We also have a beautiful stained glass window in the room. This room is open to our kitchen and dining room so it could be a wonderful place for us and our guests to relax, talk and maybe even enjoy music. I just can't fit all the pieces together.
Design by Treetime Christmas Creations
We decorated the farmhouse with a natural, woodland inspired holiday theme featuring shades of earthy green, and brown with red accents to bring rustic warmth to the room. A lush, sugar pine swag with large pine cones and berries is placed on the mantel. To fit the room's space, a "Slim Santa Fe" artificial Christmas tree with red berries and small pine cones is placed in the room and decorated with trim featuring natural elements. A red velvet tree skirt is placed below the tree. Finally, a simple way to add holiday color is to fill a nature inspired vase with artificial greenery and amaryllis.
1. A 7½-foot "Slim Santa Fe" pre-lit artificial Christmas tree with cherry-red berries nestled between real pine cone clusters and a natural, layered appearance.
2. Tree trim: Different types and shades of berries, greenery, birds, birdhouses, bells and burlap and plaid ribbon.
3. Plush red velvet star-shaped tree skirt with crisscross ribbon trim.
4. 60-inch sugar pine swag with mixed greens, three large pine cones and red berries.
5. Gold faux tree trunk vase filled with different textures of artificial greenery and amaryllis flowers.
