Cubs to play first night opener in history
The Cubs will host the St. Louis Cardinals in the Sunday night major league opener on April 5.
The game will be the first Opening Night in the history of Wrigley Field, which marked 100 years last season.
Originally scheduled for April 6, the game was moved up to become ESPN's opening national telecast of the season.
With the shift, here is the full schedule for the Cubs-Cardinals series:
• Sunday, April 5: 7:05 p.m.
• Monday, April 6: no game
• Tuesday, April 7: 7:05 p.m.
• Wednesday, April 8: 1:20 p.m.
• Thursday, April 9: no game
According to AccuWeather.com, the average low temperate in Chicago is 38 degrees. Last year, the low was 33 degrees with a high of 49 degrees.
