Rauner win shows all can be bought
In his recent effort to become governor, Bruce Rauner outspent Pat Quinn by more than two to one, $66 million to $30 million. In fact, Rauner spent nearly as much of his own fortune as the Quinn campaign spent in its entirety.
Media outlets downplay this, as they are the chief beneficiaries of this spending. But the fact remains that Rauner's victory shows that with enough money you can buy yourself anything you want.
