South suburban man sought in Round Lake Beach slaying

Lake County authorities obtained a $3 million arrest warrant Sunday for a South suburban man charged in the slaying of a 31-year-old man shot to death Saturday night in Round Lake Beach.

Police say suspect Jeremy Anderson, 36, of Chicago Heights, should be considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen driving a blue, four-door Chevy Malibu with the Illinois license plate of V128881.

Anderson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, police said Sunday. Anyone with information regarding his location should contact their local police department or the Round Lake Beach Police Department at (847) 270-9111.

The 31-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was found by police responding to reports of a shooting at 9:13 p.m. in the 1400 block of Idlewild Drive in Round Lake Beach. The man was taken to the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police described the shooting as a domestic incident. The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is assisting in the investigation.

A next-door neighbor, Lance Robar, said he was in the home when the shooting place, but in another room. He said the residence had only been occupied for a couple of months.

He said the victim, a painter, was killed during what Robar described as a family get-together. He said he is not sure what happened.

Other neighbors said the victim had been living in the single-story home for a short time.

Don Brennan, who lives down the street, said there has been frequent turnover of residents in the house. He said at least three adults and two children had been living there.

"In the last few years, there has been about five (different residents)," he said.
