Rolling Meadows man guilty of possessing child pornography
A Rolling Meadows man who authorities say posted inappropriate images to his Facebook page recently pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, court records show.
In exchange for his guilty plea, Osman Bedel, 60, was sentenced to two years in prison, court records show. He was also ordered to pay $689 in fines.
Bedel received credit for the 225 days he has spent in custody since his arrest.
The Cook County State's attorney's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Arlington Heights Police Department began investigating Bedel after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected child pornography, prosecutors said.
Arlington police confirmed he had posted child pornography to his Facebook account and searched his home, where prosecutors say they recovered an iPhone with images of children engaged in sex acts.
