Grayslake Elementary District 46 has struck new deals with two employee unions. In a news release, the district announced the new contracts are with the Grayslake Federation of Teachers - one covers instructors and a separate contract is for other unionized school workers. Both union contracts that were approved by the school board this week cover 2014-17. Details were not immediately available. Officials said the negotiations marked the first time in many years that a successful resolution was reached without the assistance of a federal mediator.
