Illinois man gets 285 years for sex assaults

BLOOMINGTON - A central Illinois man has been sentenced to 285 years in prison for a series of sexual assaults on two minor boys.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports (http://bit.ly/1smfn1f ) 29-year-old Michael Hubbard of Bellflower received the sentence Thursday after pleading guilty in September to one count of criminal sexual assault of a boy under the age of 13 and seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a second boy. The assaults occurred between August 2012 and December 2013.

Hubbard also pleaded guilty to aggravated child pornography related to videos that police seized from his home. McLean County Sheriff's Detective Tim Tyler says they contained images of the boys engaging in sex with each other and with Hubbard.

Prosecutors had asked for a 420-year sentence for what could have been up to 525 years.
