Woman with baby arrested for 4th OWI

DEFOREST, Wis. - A Janesville woman could be charged with her fourth drunken driving offense after witnesses told police they spotted her running along the interstate in Dane County with a baby carrier.

State Patrol troopers were called to Interstate 94 near DeForest Wednesday afternoon where they found the 27-year-old Janesville woman and her 9-month-old baby. Officers say the woman smelled like alcohol. While troopers conducted a field sobriety test on the mother, first responders checked the baby.

The woman was booked into the Dane County Jail and the baby was released to the father.
