St. Thomas Church planning fine art fair

More than 40 area artists, including several award-winners from Naperville, will display and sell their works at the 17th annual Celebration of the Arts fine art and craft fair Nov. 7-9 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

Exhibit hours in the ministry center of the church are 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8; and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.

Artwork for sale will include two- and three-dimensional art and crafts in media, including acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings; photography; ceramics; jewelry; pottery; wood sculpture; and fiber arts.

"The art and craft fair is a great way for people to become better acquainted with area talent and to purchase fine art and unique gifts," organizer Don Castro said.

This is the 17th year that Castro, a St. Thomas parishioner, has been the art and craft fair coordinator and is one of the participating artists for the show sponsored by the St. Thomas the Apostle Celebration of the Arts ministry.

Admission to the fair is free. A portion of the proceeds from the sales go to the Twinning Education Program for the schools that St. Thomas supports in Duchity, Haiti. Cash and checks will be accepted.
