A vote against social security, Medicare

Thinking about voting for Randy Hultgren? Reconsider. Even if you've been a Republican all your life. Reconsider. Here's why.

You want Social Security for your parents, you, your children? Well, Hultgren's voting records make it clear Social Security is on his legislative agenda to significantly downsize and hand over to his political donors on Wall Street. If Social Security money had been invested in Wall Street by private securities firms when the market crashed, millions of seniors would have lost everything. And we taxpayers would have had to bail out Wall Street. Again.

And Hultgren joined with a bunch of other politicians to shut down our government - costing taxpayers millions of dollars. For a partisan temper tantrum. And while he shut down our government, he went even further and joined the 'Suicide Caucus" in 2013 demanding Boehner use the shut down to negotiate reductions in Social Security. Perhaps you want to keep your Medicare, or hope to get it when you're 65? Well, with the way Hultgren votes you can kiss any guarantee of Medicare goodbye. The Ryan plan Hultgren supports has significant cuts to Medicare and puts seniors in a voucher system lining the already bulging pockets of the private insurance industry. This private coverage he voted for would cost seniors 50 percent more than traditional Medicare.

One of Hultgren's biggest contributors is the financial services industry. Conflict of interest perhaps? Yes. I think so.

Hultgren votes to feed a host of wasteful and expensive partisan led temper tantrums. Forty votes to repeal the ACA - $58 million. He knew from the get go he couldn't repeal it. He even admitted it at a town-hall meeting. But he voted to spend $58 million of our money anyway. We pay for that.

Vote Dennis Anderson.
