Seminar on macular degeneration Nov. 2 in Elk Grove Village

A free seminar is being offered Nov. 2 in Elk Grove Village on age-related macular degeneration.

The event will feature Dr. Timothy Schoen, an expert on retinal diseases, and a question-and-answer session. It is sponsored by the Foundation Fighting Blindness, which aims to provide information about the diseases and resources such as retina specialists, diagnostic services, and low vision aids and services, officials say.

Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 2 p.m. at the Kennedy Conference Center of Alexian Brothers Medical Center, 800 Biesterfield Road.
