Woman charged with trying to kill husband
CLAYTON, Wis. - A 22-year-old Polk County woman is charged with strangling and stabbing her husband, who survived the attack.
Authorities say Samantha Blackwell told investigators she had been fighting with her husband about finances and household responsibilities Tuesday night. WQOW-TV reports Blackwell admitted to slapping and punching her husband, stabbing him with a steak knife and strangling him.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Blackwell is charged with attempted first-degree reckless homicide, false imprisonment, strangulation and two misdemeanors. She is being held on $50,000 bond and is due back in court Oct. 23 for a preliminary hearing. Court records due not list a defense attorney.
