Quinn: Bill Clinton expected in Chicago next week

Gov. Pat Quinn says former President Bill Clinton is coming to Chicago next week.

Quinn is a Chicago Democrat facing a re-election challenge from Republican Bruce Rauner of Winnetka.

It's a hotly contested race, and several high-profile leaders from both parties have visited Illinois.

Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has traveled to Illinois several times for Rauner, including Friday. Top Democrats have campaigned for Quinn. President Barack Obama is expected back in Chicago for a Sunday rally.

Quinn's campaign confirmed the Clinton event is in Chicago but offered no other details.

Quinn told reporters Friday that he and Clinton share an alma mater of Georgetown University. He says Clinton will talk about what they learned there about growing an economy by investing in people and taking "care of everyone."
