Sheriff: 92-year-old Illinois man dies in accident

Will County authorities say a 92-year-old man has died after being crushed by a truck that rolled down a driveway on his Homer Glen farm.

The (Joliet) Herald-News reports sheriff's office spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said Monday that John Nahser died Saturday.

His 61-year-old daughter tells authorities she had returned from a store and parked the pickup truck on a sloped gravel driveway. She says she joined her father working in a barn and heard a loud crash after he walked outside.

Hoffmeyer says the truck crashed into a small feed silo and Nahser was trapped underneath. He yelled to his daughter for help and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounce dead.

She says the daughter tells investigators the truck had recently had transmission problems.
