We need to shake up entire government
As we approach voting day, the ads by each candidate are heating up. One of the main points that Gov. Quinn's ads attack is that challenger Bruce Rauner is rich.
Why is it the Democrats seem to hate rich people, especially when most of them are rich? And, unlike Mr. Rauner, they became rich on the public dime.
It's obvious, therefore, that Mr. Rauner isn't in it for the money. Gov. Quinn is a nice man, I'm sure, but it's also obvious to me that he is the most inept, puppet-string governor ever.
Illinois is on the brink of bankruptcy, thousands of people and jobs have left the state because of its financial and anti-business climate. So why not take a shot at someone who doesn't need the money?
But, know that it's not only the governor's mansion that needs a new tenant, the Statehouse needs shaking up, too. The Democrats have run this state for too long, and the result of that is Illinois is at the top of the list of states where people are leaving or would like to leave.
Also know that tough decisions have to be made to get this state on better financial footing. If the new governor and legislature have the guts to make those decisions, there will be attacks from the left. But these tough decisions have to be made to make Illinois a more stable place to live and to have a more stable business climate.
Let's try a new course for a change. Vote Rauner for governor and let's change the Statehouse, too.
