World War I exhibit in Grayslake:

A new World War I exhibition will open Saturday, Oct. 11, with a reception featuring snacks based on recipes of the era at Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum. "Over There: Grayslake in World War I," will explore the stories of local veterans, as well as tales from the home front. The show will have a recreated trench and dramatic recordings of authentic excerpts from veterans' letters. Uniforms, images and artifacts from the collection of the Grayslake Historical Society and local families make this an engaging exhibition. The museum is at 164 Hawley St. in downtown Grayslake. For information, contact Executive Director David Oberg (847) 543-1745 or doberg@villageofgrayslake.com.
