Metra trains halted near Highwood due to accident involving pedestrian

Metra trains have been halted on the Union Pacific North Line because a train hit a pedestrian in Highwood, Metra officials have announced.
In a service announcement on the Metra website, train #326 hit the pedestrian near Highwood at about 8:30 a.m. Trains traveling in both directions have been halted and extensive delays are anticipated, Metra officials said.
