Facts say Rauner just another schemer
I am completely at a loss as to how a reputable newspaper as the Daily Herald would endorse Bruce Rauner given the current situation with the GTCR and the nursing home lawsuit.
Nowhere do you mention the facts regarding his involvement. I understand Pat Quinn is not a candidate to endorse, but at the least hold your endorsement of Bruce Rauner.
Fact: GTCR, a firm Bruce Rauner founded and ran for decades, is being sued along with it's former New York partners for engineering a complicated sale to avoid wrongful death judgments in 2006.
Fact: Corporate documents show those decision were made by a GTCR partner investment committee that included Rauner and that his own campaign office indicated he served on.
Fact: U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Michael Williamson stated in a ruling in March "GTCR Group, which invested millions of dollars in THI, was intimately involved in the day-to-day management"
I could go on, but I'm not going to because the facts clearly show Bruce Rauner's involvement in the management of the company and the financial engineering to avoid the wrongful death judgment.
Illinois has had enough of scheming politicians from the Democrat Party and now it looks to have the same from the Republican Party. But at the very least, the news media should at least report the facts and let the voters make their own choice.
