Be fair when decrying income tax exemptions

A gentleman from Inverness subjectively singled out retired public school personnel to inform readers their pension income is exempt from Illinois income tax. He neglected to include the pensions of judges, police and fire retirees, and all public service retirees.

The gentleman from Inverness also neglected to mention other current and retirement income exempt from Illinois income tax: income from Social Security, 401(k)s, IRAs, defined benefit pensions, any qualified retirement plan, income from Illinois municipal bonds, income from U.S. Treasury bonds, bills, notes, certificates, and savings bonds, and income from many government agencies.

I believe lots of folks, including the gentleman from Inverness, would be very upset if the above mentioned sources of income became taxable.
