Huntley library to close for maintenance

Huntley Area Public Library will be closed for two days this month for repairs, officials said this week.

The library, at 11000 Ruth Road, will be closed Oct. 14 and 15 for building maintenance, during which time book drops will not be allowed and some programs will be canceled.

The work involves installing insulation and replacement of recalled sprinkler heads, spokesman Doug Cataldo said.

Library book drops will close at 8 p.m. Oct. 13 and will reopen for patrons to drop off materials starting 8 a.m. Oct. 16. Any overdue charges will be adjusted.

The following programs will be canceled/rescheduled: Babypalooza (Oct. 14); Pajamarama, (Oct. 14) rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 9; Pageturners (Oct. 14); Downloading eBooks for Kindle Fire (Oct. 15); Story Time (Oct. 15 and 16).

While the library building is closed, patrons will have access to online resources and can search the catalog, place holds, download eBooks, eMagazines, eAudiobooks, and MP3 music any time. Online resources, including JobNow!, HelpNow!, Gale Courses, and Mango Languages, are available by visiting huntleylibrary.org/eresources.
