Nice tune-up for Kopeny, Hersey

Hersey's Megan Kopeny (82), Elk Grove's Erin Walz (85) and Hersey's Lexi Heidkamp (85) finished as the top three individuals at the Rolling Meadows Invite on Monday in their final tuneup for Tuesday's Mid-Suburban League meet at Palatine Hills.

Kopeny and Heidkamp's scores helped pace Hersey to the title of the 12-team invite as the Huskies finished with a score of 356, ahead of Geneva (352) and Rolling Meadows (373).

Sarah Hartness of Elk Grove shot an 87 and Lauren Hattory of Rolling Meadows scored an 88 to finish in the top ten.

Completing the Huskies' winning score card were Maggie Anderson (89) and Becky Anderson (90).

Fremd d Conant: Fremd finished with a 10-1 record in the Mid-Suburban League (second only to 11-0 Prospect) with a 169-175 victory.

Fremd's Jaehee Hur earned medalist honors by shooting an even-par 36 at Palatine Hills, followed by teammates Haezi Jung (43), Annmarie O'Sullivan (45) and Kristina Ferrari (45).

Conant was led by Megan Nagorzanski (37), Carly Bryeans (39), Nimra Syred (49) and Lina Jang (50).

The Vikings host Tuesday's MSL meet at Palatine Hills beginning at 8:30 a.m.
